Meet Mason

Mason Freeman (he/him) is a creative and passionate student majoring in Communications Design (Emphasis in Graphic Design) at Pratt Institute. In addition to graphic design, Mason also has a background in illustration and writing.

While currently in his junior year in New York, Mason is eager to make connections and gain experience in the workforce. In the past, Mason has worked for Dottie's Art Studio in Illinois, assisting in instructing digital art courses for young adults. While at Pratt, Mason has been a “Pratt Peer” or orientation leader who acclimated new students to the campus. Most recently, Mason was a Team Advisor at the National Student Leadership Conference, a globally known pre-college program.

Mason's dream job is in a cooperative environment that tells unsung stories. Outside of school and work, Mason's other interests are birds and music. He also enjoys going out and meeting people who share his passions. Inside of school, Mason has taken various graphic design courses, such as Branding and Messaging and Graphic Design Intensive I.

In Branding and Messaging, Mason learned how to pay close attention to the consumer's demographics and needs. He also learned how to perform a brand audit and design products catering to a brand persona.

In Graphic Design Intensive, Mason learned how to reimagine the design of pre-existing books and create content of his own. He had the opportunity to make a series of booklets and posters about a personal interest of his, the history of pigeons.
